P0455 means there is a large leak in the evaporative emissions system. This means all of the fuel vent lines and related components like the filler neck, gas cap, canister vent solenoid, vapor management valve, etc.
You can try inspecting all of the components for obvious failure but other than that you will just be guessing. You need to take it to a shop to have the system smoke tested to find the leak.

remove and replace the cap then clear codes, if that does not work->inspect all components the fillet neck and hose do go bad on these trucks. at this point you might want to get a new cap for $15 does the cap click when you turn it? rockauto sells the caps and this place sells the filler neck Ford Ranger Fuel Tank Filler Neck at AM Autoparts
