alright i have a couple of questions. I have a 78 bronco that i am resto-moding and i'm about half way through the tear down. my main problem is the metal lip that the upper part of the windshield rubber attaches to is TOAST! there are a couple of other spots on the front portion of the roof that are kinda bad as well. so my question is: does the roof of a 78 or 79 f150 have the same line at the windshield? or is it going to be easier to just bend and weld some patch metal for it. Or any pointers on this subject would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance
At the windshield the truck should be identical to the Bronco. Its the aft end of the roof that is different for the top attachment. To the best of my knowledge the windshields for the trucks and Broncos were shared across model years. 78-79- trucks and Broncos should use the same glass.
Yes the windshield is the same, but make sure you get the right molding to fit it. There were some models with a chrome insert in the trim and some with just black rubber. I had my windshield replaced and they installed the wrong molding...well they had to come out the next day to re-replace it and they overnight-ed the super rare chrome molding since teh other windshield fell right out.
