Here's what I have:
1979 F250 4x4 with a 1971 460 out of an LTD. It has the original C6 with stock converter from the F250. The truck is on very heavy 2.5 ton axles with 6.72 gears and very heavy 53" Michelin military tires. The 460 has a cast 4v intake manifold and 650 cfm Edelbrock carb. The rest is stock as can be. Along with a cam kit, I will be getting a timing set and possibly a pair of headers/single chambers. As well as doing some extra gearing, I'm looking to get some more low-end torque out of the engine without increasing stall. I've done a good bit of research but wanted to get some educated advice.

From what I know and have read on cam choices for my application I want:

Dual pattern cam (more lift on exhaust to offset poor head flow)
Big lift (.500-.530)
Low duration
More lobe separation (between 112-114) which is less overlap

All of these, in theory, improve low end torque. That being said, I have narrowed down my choices to 3.

1) An FTE member's recommendation, 1,400-5,600 rpm range:

2) A little less lift on intake, same on exhaust, less duration and more lobe separation, Idle-5,000 rpm range:

3) A little less lift on intake, a little more on exhaust, less duration and more lobe separation, 1,000-5,000.
Not exactly sure how .503 intake/.535 exhaust would behave but this one was worth looking at:

Alpha's recommendation seems dead on but the 1st Lunati cam I listed has some interesting numbers too. Any input/advice/recommendations? Thanks!
