Complete resto - need modification ideas
In my opinion if you want to have a really unique truck that turns heads just simply restore it to original factory condition. That's more rare than any flashy curves and stripes bull sh** you can come up with. Why spend all that time and money just to make another "custom" looking truck that only you will probably think looks good? Yes they made a ton of these trucks in the day, but there arent very many that still look the way they did when they left the factory. When they do, thats what turns my head, but thats just me of course.
WOW
The title of this thread kinda threw me for a loop.. "resto" and "modification" didn't exactly coincide. With that said, cool beans you can fab cuz that opens up a world of possibilities....

2X with previous posts about the classic body lines. However here are some suggestions for you to pick n choose:
- Graft side vents (ala 2010 F250s) into the fenders and make them functional such that they draw in air to the HVAC system. Then seal the cowl vents.
- Delete the wing window and use a single piece of glass.
- Delete the rain gutters
Have you ever seen a dent without the rain gutters? If anyone has a pic I would like to see it.
Using side vents and getting rid or the Cowl.
Delete the wing window and use one piece of glass. I have read this before. Has anyone ever tried this?
Awesome ideas, and much appreciated everyone.
I got the truck in the garage today. Removed the bed and almost the entire nose. (Removing it all separately so I can give each piece the attention it needs as I put it back together.)
@Justin's - I understand 100% what you're getting at. I love the original look of the trucks and always have. I'm just looking for ideas that will set mine apart from others.
@HIO - Awesome list. That alone gave me a few other ideas. :-)
Here's what I have to start with:

And here's what I got done tonight after work.

Here's the parts trucks I have to work with.
