Ok so today i was cleaning under my hood and i came across this. I think it has something to do with the A/C because it connects to the a/c pump. But I dont know what it does. There is a tube that comes off it going to the back of my engine bay but its just ends and looks like it was cut. It goes to nothing.
CW, you sir, are a winner!....It is the filter for the A.I.R system IIRC....Sucks in the cold air, and then it is hosed to a 4 way valve located above the alternator...Then
it goes to the AIR injection runner above the fuel rail on my I6.....Cold air straight into the head...
There's a belt driven pump down low on the Accessory drive. What cut? I believe you are missing a plastic piece that routes it through to the fender (i think), I had one on my Bronco but took it off.
The flex hose coming off the back of that canister is the air inlet. It is supposed to be open on the end. The one on my truck tucks in underneath the blower casing down the back of the wheelwell.
