Mufflers?

Thinking about buying some Magnaflow mufflers for my truck.
What is on your truck and do you like them?
Thinking about 3" exhaust also. Just have open headers now and my better half is fedup with the noise. Hmmmmm.
Any pictures of ax systems would be nice. Thanks
Its a built 428 in a 72 F250 4x4 frame with a NP205 from a 76

Get the long ones. I love magnaflow myself, but they can be loud.

If you still have "better" half problems you can add resonators.

if you are used to open headers then magnaflows will seem dead silent.
Magnaflow and other performance mufflers with a straight through design will give the best performance and sound good. Flowmasters sound good but do not flow well. Are you going to dump the exhaust under the cab or bed, or will it be a full length exhaust out the rear? that will have a big impact on noise as well. Go with 3" for sure. Not sure how quiet you want it but if it were me i would throw some dynomax race bullets on it, or magnaflow, borls, dynatech race series mufflers, they all sound very good

I put regular old cherry bombs on my 67/390. I dumped them out in front of the rear axle. I get lots of comments about it sounding 'just right". I wanted it to sound like the "cool" guys' trucks in the late 60's, and this worked great. The price is nice, too.

U have to have groin up in Hickory, Cherryville, Shelby area to understand. The best sound ever for a little drag racing ambitioned kid! Straight pipes and Cherry bombs, can beat the feel and sound.

I'm running 2 1/2 inch true duels through, 2 Flows, 40 series. They dump out the sides. They are the perfect sound I was looking for. I couldn't be happier with them and I get a lot of compliments, people say my truck sounds like a beast! Have a listen

find some longer glasspacks (18"+). nice mellow idle sound, but they can raise hell when you get on the gas!

I run a 390 with Hedman long tubes, 2.5-inch true duals, through Moroso SpiralFlows. The F-Bomb sounds like a NASCAR engine.

I wanted mufflers that were compact but didn't contain fiberglass (like glasspacks) that tends to degrade/crumble over time. SpiralFlows are darned near Dynomax's race bullets. Avoid the Dynomax VT... a muffler is no place for moving parts.

Magnaflows are nice and under serious consideration for my next project: a 70 2WD Bumpside.

I'm looking to get the Jones Exhaust Turbo Tube Mufflers ATT12S-3 for my 1971 F100 Sport Custom 360 FE. My understanding is that they'll fit. I don't want to wake the neighbors, but I'm fine with waking their dogs.

thoughts??

Classic V-8 must have the Classic sound .
I agree 👍 with the Cherry Bombs I bought the longest ones they had on summit also have a set of AP exhaust owned by Cherry Bomb they have the baffles inside it's really mellow until you step on it with no drone in cab . Best thing a set was around 40 bucks shipped .
