EGR Problem?
Hi I have a 1996 F150 with the 4.9 and a 5 speed. For the past couple years the check engine light has been on. I know its nothing and I could care less about fixing it. But here in CA it won't pass with that light on. Apparently this code involves the exhaust and cats. From what I have been told, it may be because I put a less restrictive exhaust (Magnaflow) and that is giving it a different reading than stock. I have also been told that it may have something to do with the EGR. I just want to know what it might be and how to fix it. Last time I got it fixed to get slogged he said the EGR was clogged.
