My 1999 Super Duty 7.3L had a bad #8 injector.... we have put a new one in changed the valve cover gasket, and the harness... the truck now sounds like it has a miss constantly. Before it just had a miss when around 1600 RPMs and would stop if we took it out of overdrive and kept it at higher RPM's. Now after the expensive repairs it is rough (really rough) even when at idle.
Anyone have any ides? Diesel mechanic doesn't know what else to do either and we can't afford to keep shoveling cash at this thing!
Funny thing is we now have more power but it just runs really rough...
Is the check engine light lit? What led you to change #8? You can unplug the ICP on the drivers side head and see if it smooths out. Check for oil in the electrical connection there.
Wiring may have gotten knocked off when replacing VC after #8 replacement.
Might try posting this in the 7.3 section. Good luck
