My '94 F150 with 302 is designed to run on 87 octane unleaded gasoline.
I recently bought this truck, and went all through the tune up stuff, all top quality stuff.
I've been running 87 octane gas until last fill up, filled with 93 octane just for kicks, boy what a difference!!
I have not checked timing yet, it doesn't ping on the 87 octane until I kick it pretty hard, then just a little, wonder if I should run 89 octane??? what are you folks running?? Thanks!!
I run 89 in my 94 5.0 during the winter. the oxygenated fuel in this region bites. I think thats the source of of my ping issues. If I run 89 no pings at all !!
i run the mid grade fuel it is cheaper here in iowa because of the ethonol. and i dont need the low flash point like i do in my carbed bronco II. just run the lowest octane fuel you can without pinging. that is what i was taught
