f250 4X4 QUAESTIONS?
Hey just got a 2001 f250. It has manual locking hubs. I wasnt thinking and put it into 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive low but forgot to lock the hubs and drove around. Did i do damage and did the 4WD try to engage?
Also I have aftermarket rims and 35's so it doesnt show me if the hubs are in the locked position. If im on the drivers front wheel would turning the hub clockwise lock it? and on the passengers wheel turn it clockwise as well lock it?
THANKS!!!

No, I don't think you did any damage to your hubs by having the transfer case locked and the hubs not. All you were doing was turning your front axles, but they weren't "locked" to your wheels. And since your front tires were most likely moving the same speed as your axles, there would have been very little friction to speak of.
I can't speak to the direction of your lock vs. unlock position since I still have auto-hubs on mine (going to replace at the first sign of wearing out). The manual shows manual locking hubs turn to the right (clockwise) to lock and to the left (counter-clockwise) to free. I would assume after market hubs would follow the same format, but you may want to look up the brand and download a manual to put in the glovebox.
I hope that helps you out.
