The carbs are getting a good bit of "gunk" as he described it "Thick Corn Starch" like materials...from HIS research the Ethanol they are putting in the gas, is "gumming" up the carbs...He seemed to think that this could be the issue with my Fuel Delivery Issues...possible needle cloggage? Or Heavy Build-up in the Float Department of the Carb?

Any thoughts on this as a possibility? Any one heard anything in relation to the Ethanol they are putting in the fuel these days? And would the Ethanol affect modern day Carbs such as my Edelbrock 1405?
There's no question this gasoline that were getting now is causing problems in these older vehicles and small engines. I change the rubber fuel lines every year on all my engines because of this junk fuel the enviromental wackos have forced on us.
The shop that build my truck engine recommended for all my small engines, weedeaters, blowers, etc. VP racing fuel, SEF 94 ethanol free, unleaded 4-cycle fuel for small engines. I had been having trouble starting my small engines that would sit for a couple of weeks or more. So, I broke down and bought a five gallon can of this fuel and used a small amount in a weedeater I couldn't get to run on regular gas. On the second pull this thing fired up and has not quit since. After each season before I store these small engines away I'll put a little in the tanks and run for a short period and put away. This fuel is guaranteed for 5 years. It's expensive at approximately $70 for five gallons, but I havn't any problems starting anything I have after using this while stored away in my engines.
Emergency personnel all over keep this fuel on hand to get there equipment running. You can imagine what problems they would have using pump gas that we get now to store in their equipment. I know this stuff is expensive, but all it takes is to jerk on a cord for a while on a hot day and can't get your engine to crank and you'll wish you had some of this fuel.

$70 for 5 gallons sounds EXPENSIVE...but if pump gas continues on the current path, it will be close to that before long...

Sad point...The Tornado damage is about an hour North of me, here in Alabama...gas has already jumped $.30 a gallon in some areas right around us...IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL! NOT TO MENTION LUMBER PRICES THAT WILL BE GOING UP IN THE STATE....

Sorry, (climbing off my soap box)...I am heading on a week long trip, and filled all my tanks up (mowers, blower, weekeaters, etc)...with pump gas mixed with an ethanol reducer additive I picked up at our local parts house...I have used it before and it seems to work great...I will let you guys know upon return...

It's really expensive, but I just put a little in a dry tank and crank the engine and let it run for a minute then store it away until I need it again. I just use it to start an engine, but use regular gasoline to run it on.

Govenor Bentley should get the Attorney General to go after anyone trying to rip off anyone, especially now!
