Hey fellow truckers, im a first time proud owner of an immaculate 01 v10 with 140k miles on it. Truck runs fantastic but the gas is just insane. So I want to experiment with a new intake, gas and air filters, and need to know if I should get a superchip or this 5star y'all are talkin bout. I have a crew cab with a 6" lift and camper, and it only gets about 9mpg. Im in Las Vegas and other V10 owners are saying I should get around 11-13mpg.

Not likely with the lift hauling a camper. Your MPG is affected by lift, tire size, gear ratio and more. Change your plugs, clean the MAF sensor, change filters and you'll be at your best. Everyone says the 5-Star tuner helps power and doesn't hurt MPG so it would probably be good for your camper.
I know most people complain about the mpg on trucks, but im not...I put a lot of thought into this truck before I bought it. My uncle died and passed along the cabin in the mountains to me, so a 4x4 is essential. And why not get the baddest one? Lol. But I do like finding challenges and racing them, im an old school mechanic,so im on a mission to challenge the mpg on this thing. I think changing out the wheel bearings with some high end replacements might help as well. I will keep an eye on every different change I make separately.
Ok. Im getting about 9-10 on the freeway. At 75mph my rpms are at 2,000. About what gear ratio is this? And when the gear ratio is changed does the front gears need to be changed as well for the 4x4 to work properly?
I pulled my 7K pound toy hauler up the Cajon Summit and got 8.5MPG right after a major tune up, so you're doing OK. Pretty much the only way to get good mileage with this truck is to lighten your load, get smaller tires and stay off the skinny pedal.
Yes, if you change the rear end gears, you'll have to change the front to the same. Check the tag on your diff, it'll tell you what gear ration you're running. There's a diff tag decoder in the tech section.
