I'll be using one off a 94 explorer it was mounted on the rear frame rail ill be using it as my front frame crossmember ill need to cut it down to fit but it will be nice to have a receiver on the front
I'm looking for one to fit my 70 F-250. Hitch shop had a Class III (Acme I think) they said would work, but I really wanted at least a Class IV receiver. LMC Truck has one rated a Class III too. Tractor Supply has a Class IV Multi Fit by Reese that I am thinking about modifying to work. It is rated at 7000 lb max trailer weight carrying, and 12,000 lb with a weight distributing hitch. You will have to make two 1 inch thick spacers to use this unit though. Going to try to find some info on Reeses Titan Hitches, they have a 2.5 inch receiver box, and are rated a Class V with 12,000 lb weight carrying and 14,000 lb distributing.
I'm also in the process of measuring my truck for a B&W turnover hidden gooseneck ball hitch the trailer shop thinks will work.
I have a Class III/IV on my truck that is a direct bolt on. I'll get the part # and manufacturer soon for ya. It's a Reese or Drawtite I think. I'll get back to ya.
