Hinge mirror installation?

I got a set of hinge pin mirrors for my '52 F-1, they are the ones with the curved rod. Anyway, I've heard mixed things as to how install them. Before I do it the wrong way, how exactly do you install them? I've heard everything from needing to grind a little off the hinge to having to hone out the hole a little bit.... I only want to do this once

1) Grind the heads off of your original pins.
2) Center punch and drill into the top of the pins. Use a diameter just a few thousandths smaller than the pin. Be sure you're not getting into the hinge. Drill into the pins approx. .25".
3) Soak with penetrating oil and have a beer.
4) With a punch, drive your old pins down and out of the hinge.

Good luck!!
