fuel valve separator
fuel valve separator
i have a 86f250 diesel.--ok i finally wrestled this thing off.long story but it was a pita.remembered why i am not a mechanic.went to autozone and advance and they both had universal valves BUT niether will fit as all of the "prongs" are either up or down while mine has two pointed out(towards the rear of truck-horizonallly) its got the hard plastic lines and i dont think it can make/hold up well to that bend.also the electric fitting was different but i think they sold an adaptor.
so whats my options now?im headin over to ebay in a bit but wanted to check in here for ideas.

well i was trying to get the pics on here lol but all the valves im look at seem to be universal
Trending Topics
the first pic looks like what i sent i think.the others i am not sure.im gonna go to that site and see if i can enlarge the pics.i took a pic of mine but dunno if it turned out good.my camera just started taking blurry pics and presently ive got it under the truck plugging up a fuel line.-----------------mine has 2 up,2 down and 2 horizonally.the ones ive seen so far has 4 down and 2 up(or vice versa) and a little one as well.
oh and it also doest have the quick disconnect lines...or at least the ones that require the plastic rings shown in your pic.its the kind that has the "c clips"(my word) like a plastic steeple sort of. dunno correct name of that style.i need to know though.
can the ends be changed on the hard plastic lines?so i could come in at a different angle and use the 4 down type.

i got a decent pic of it but cant figure out how to post it here--------------------------------------edit-i put up 2 pics of it in my profile.only one album labeled fuel selector valva(yes i misspelled by accident--im new here so i dont know how bad the spelling ***** are here)
i cant seem to find one that looks like this,2 up 2 down and 2 out--all i see are 2 down and 4 up.

this should help you with everything to install a universal fuel tank selector valve.

i just called napa they said they dont have one for a ford.only gm/chevy etc.
i went over the above link.
you said-----
------"also note, this valve, just uses standard hose connections.not the stock fuel connections.
all you need to do,is cut the end off the ends going into the FSV,and strip back the outer hose.you can now slide your rubber hose right on the stock fuel connector lines going into the tanks!just secure with standard hose clamps.its all low pressure,so no worries."
---------let me see if i got this right.i can use the universal selector(assume we are talking about the 2 up 4 down selector that seems to be the only one anybody makes) BUT I NEED TO CUT OFF THE ENDS OF MY STOCK CONNECTORS AND SLIP OVER THE HARD PLASTIC LINES A RUBBER HOSE? i just want to be sure people are in agreeance with that.

haha yeah.some people freak out about cutting those stock lines.i sure don't understand the concern.besides they are sold at auto stores to replace too.they're just cheap uni fuel lines.they're nothing special and don't help the truck run any better.
don't be afraid to make it work.
you can go to ford and buy the stock FSV so it bolts right in,and wire clips in without fuss, but you wont like the price.
a little work using the uni valve and its just like making 150+ an hr.
