Headers and 02 sensor.

Just got some headers for my 92 F150. Was wonderin if i would be able to drive my truck with the just the headers temporarily. I just don't know what to do with the oxygen sensor. I don't want it to just hang while i'm drivin. What all would happen if I temporarily disconnected it?

what motor? a check engine light will come on if you disconnect it. you could have a muffler shop weld in a bung into the new headers to accept the o2 sensor

Yes.. the header collector is where it should go eventually anyway.

But with long tubes it will need to go into the collector....with shorties it can go in the pipe after the collector...If you run it with out the 02 sensor it will be fine temporarily , it will just stay in open loop....Lew
