Help with noise

OK guys. I need your help with a strange noise that started last night. If you listen closely you'll hear a tinging sound is the best way I can describe it. Sounds like something in the accessory drive maybe??? I loaded one of the canned tunes from my new SCT 3015. I noticed the noise immediately following installation. I returned the truck to stock today and it seemed to subside but it's still there. Not sure if one has anything to do with the other. Any help would be appreciated.

i heard the screaching noise but not a ticking noise. the slight tick is normal for these trucks. if its the screaching noise then yea i would say the belt or pully. easy to damage one when working on the heads with cab on. also remember that if your like me and did the work your self i tend to hear strange noises and think i did something wrong when no one else hears them.

sounds like the tension pully bearing or the idler bearing on the a/c clutch

The first step is to remove the drive belt and run the engine, to see if that eliminates the noise. If the noise persists with the engine running, then the source is something inside the engine itself. If removing the drive belt eliminates the noise, then the source is obviously something in the accessory drive circuit (eg. alternator, idler pully, tensioner, water pump, power steering pump etc.).

This may not help much, but I had one with a similar noise awhile back that had cracked the water pump impeller. I gues that would explain the overheating this particular truck had.
