Coolant leak solved!

Recently, I discovered my coolant reservoir was about 2.5 quarts low of fluid. After adding coolant/water, I monitored the level and determined I had a leak that was getting worse. I added about another 3 quarts of fluid over a week. The location was never visible. I pressurized the system with the test set from Autozone, but could not locate the leak. I knew it was not in the oil, so I thought it was the water pump and even ordered a replacement (should be arriving today). However, on Sunday, I finally had a puddle of coolant under the engine and was able to determine the actual source.

I have previously done the cold air ac mod using hte Ford Ranger part from Autozone. The leak was from the stem on control valve. The leak finally got bad enough that it was visible with the engine running. Previously, I think it was dripping onto the engine and cooking off, so there was no evidence left.

Thought I would share for others who may be hunting for a leak.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. Glad it wasn't the pump.
