On my way home last night I had to hit the brakes kind of hard and felt the truck "jumping" a bit, felt like a brake problem.
I pulled all the wheels off and checked the rotors, the outside of the front passenger side rotor has some "dips/grooves" in it.
There are only 20k miles on these PowerSlot rotors with the Night Hawk pads (I think thats the correct names)
The only thing that has changed in the past 5k miles is new tires.
I dont feel the "jumping" when applying the brakes lightly.
What do I do? Are the rotors warranted? If not I need to get them cut and sand the brake pad right? But will that fix the problem? Could the pad be defective?

Reason: Spelling Error
I had an issue with one of my front rotors last year. I cannot remember the warranty period from when I asked but I do remember it was rediculously short. Like 30 days or something silly like that. I did have mine turned and it has been fine since.
Seems like maybe a guide pin problem, that was keeping brake pressure applied.
Thats what I was thinking, the pins were stuck bad when I changed them out, but I put new pins in and everything seemed to work smooth.
On the driverside however I replaced the whole caliper b/c the pins were stuck too bad. I should have just replaced bothe calipers. It was only like $60 for the caliper.

That stinks that the warranty is that short, but understandable. If its the pins its my fault, I'll get it turned down, replace the caliper and sand the one pad. Hopefully that will do it.
Pep Boys couldn't cut it. Very annoying that they told me they could. I bought a new caliber, replaced the pins and cleaned the slots for the pins really well. The one pin with the rubber washer was really stuck in there. Maybe that was the whole problem?
I sanded the pad a bit, it only took a min to get it very smooth again. Put it back together and drove today, still shaking when I hit the brakes hard. Who can cut these Rotors?
I had to have a mechanic friend of mine call around to his contacts to find a place that could turn my rotor. Not difficult for the "right" person but tough to find.
Dropped my rotor off to a different shop that said they could do it on Friday, the just told me they cant do it either and don't know who can. That sucks
There are a couple tractor trailer type of mechanic shops near where I work. I will stop in there on my way home tonight to see if maybe they can cut them.
You might want to look at your tires. I just had to replace one that visually looked fine, but it was bouncing. Tire guy said the belt inside must have snapped and the tire was 'out of round'.

But it only happens when appling the brakes hard.
My future father-in-law called around for me and found a Napa that will cut it. Should be done when I get home today.
NAPA cut my Rotor, I put it on and the truck was pulling very hard to the left, the side that was not cut. I went trough the brake treatment routine again and now it is perfect. Crazy that those very small groves could cause that much shocking and bouncing.
