Dana 44 Problems
Seems as if I've got a bit of a rarity in a 77 F100 with a Dana 44 rear end? It's starting to give me some concern. When I'm at a lowspeed( and I mean less than 15 mph) or sometimes even idle speed, it shutters pretty bad. If I get on the gas, it smooth's right out. Someone told me that all Dana 44's were limited slip differentials in 77 and 78, but I've taken the cover off and I don't see any evidence of one? Was I told right? Any Dana rearend guru's.....or maybe someone with just common sense can steer me in the right direction? Thanks

Well, I knew that a 44 was not rare, but I've just never seen one in the rear? I thought basically all 1/2 ton Fords had a 9" in the back. Good info on the U-joint though. I've been too busy recovering from the hail damage from this past weekend to even look. Thank you.
