Has anyone tried or know if placing an electric fan in front of the Trans Cooler would help out the temps? I have had a 14" electric fan fall in my lap and I am wondering if it would be worth the hassel of trying this out. If it has been done, how was it mounted?
It would help while sitting still, I doubt it would help rolling down the road. The cooling system on our rigs are excellent, the existing fan already moves more air that needed IMO. There are some guys that run w/o a fan in the cooler months. The only thing that helps the trans is a larger cooler.
Any Mod info on the upgrade? Tow a large 5er in the So Cal desert in the summer means HIGH Temps. Trying to fight them is the plan. Let me know what you have on file. I will try to run a search.
Thanks for the info Darin
Great info there Darin, Thanks... There was a question in the thread that was never answered though... Will the 6.0 Trans Cooler fit with a 6.0 Intercooler?
Tried to rep ya, but am in need of a little spreading it around ... gotta love the system, good deeds can't be measured properly.
Thanks Again...
From what I can tell is that the 6.0 and the Intercooler would be a really tight fit; Does anyone have both installed? It also apprears that the Tru-Cool would not work with the Intercooler either. Am I SOL?
I have the tru-cool and hayden in mine with a early 99 IC. I also added a fan setup off of a RX7, a small dual fan I mounted up above my make shift air intake, LOL. I just lowered that rubber flap down so air could be drawn up into where I mounted the fans. Yes, it was quite a squeeze!
