Truck is 1990 F150 XLT Lariat 351 E4OD and my cruise control quit working yesterday when I was on the way to the lake, pulling a boat. It worked the first part of the trip, but after I stopped to get gas and got going again, nothing happened after I pushed the buttons! The horn and blinkers etc all work and I checked the fuse, so whats up?! Thanks in advance for your help.
Did you check the fuse. Its under the hood in the box behind your washer fluid tank. Not shore which one. Its a small fuse not the big ones. Also do your back up lights work. Mine don't along with my cruise. they went out at the same time. I think it may be in the neutral safety switch. I will know for shore in a few days when the tranny gets put back in the truck I got a new switch for the rebuild.

His truck is a '90, so no engine compartment fuse block like yours, and his is vacuum-operated where yours is all electric.

Make sure the vacuum valve on the brake pedal isn't leaking or kicked loose, and see if the vacuum supply line to the servo (by the L hood hinge) has good vacuum at idle.
Once I looked at the servo (I had no idea what it was until I read the post) I traced the acceleration cable to the throttle body, and it had come undone. The small shaft at the end of the cable attached to the gas pedal is broken on the end, so if you rev the engine up from under the hood (or the cruise control accelerates very quickly) the broken piece hangs on the plastic line that holds the metal cable, which caused the cruise cable to come undone yesterday.
