Relay or starter?
hey I have a 1980 F150 with an inline 300. It sat all winter this year, but after I charged the batter it started fine. My brother wanted to learn stick, so I drove with him. He stalled it, and we could not get it to start again. Rolled it back to the farm, checked the battery, checked the fuel, all good. When you turn the key, the relay makes a clunk sound. I took a jumper cable and used it to bypass the relay, the starter will make a whirling sound, but does not engage the flywheel. Is the problem the relay entirely, or is the starter also part of the problem?
