I am new to this forum and was wondering what can I do to my 92 f150 4x4 while keeping the speed density. I have read enough to know sd freindly cam, gt 40 heads,(why not the gt40p) headers,(opinions on long or short), I have 35 inch tires and a 3 inch body lift will be installind a 4 inch suspension lift while the motor is out. Also having 4.88 gears installed next weekend I plan on running bigger tires as soon as I can see the air in the ones I have. Can I raise the compression ratio on speed density? 93 octane is not a problem the truck wont be drove enough to worry about gas mileage and the engine is going to have a fresh rebuild too while I am doing the cam and heads. Which cam do ya'll recommend and it has true duals with flowmasters already on it. What are the benefits of an X pipe or H pipe? Trans is built fairly well with shift kit and what stall converter should I go to after the engine mods? Has an AOD tranny.
They have a radical spark plug angle that leaves little to no clearance between the plug and/or wire boot and the header tube on most aftermarkets headers, so producing something functional that doesn't melt wires usually involves custom work.
Ok and what about the aluminum heads from ford racing that summit sells? LT or shortys and I plan on running the sd friendly cam from comp. Grind number XE250H-14. Has anyone run the 5.8 cam in the 5.0 from comp? Anyone got any suggestions on converter stall?
I have found a set of headers from ford racing that will clear the plug on the 40p heads. Found it on a bronco forum with reviews. My question now is will the gt40p heads work with speed density and will the computer make its own adjustments or will I have to tune it some how. And is anyone running the cam I listed above.
