82 AOD adjustment

can anyone explain to how to set a the kickdown rod on my 82 f150 302 with a stock 2bbl

A Haynes of Chilton manual should have all the info you need.

For memory I think the Chiltons & Haynes manuals are pretty limited regarding the TV settings, but try here.......

Keyword "should", not the best explanation in any of those, that's why I asked here.

Gotta wonder what's going through someone's head when they post something like that.

They say be careful or you could burn up the tranny.

Mine has got about 1/8 - 1/4" gap between the adjustment screw and the tab on the carb at idle. In other words, the throttle linkage has to move about 1/8 - 1/4" before the TV rod starts moving. This is where I found the best shifts with my truck.

I don't know if it's right or not but it hasn't burned up... yet.
