The eBay price is about as good as you'll find (I've been shopping for a few years), but be aware that they're not OEM - just aftermarket replacements. I'm NOT saying they're not good (I've never seen one up close) - just not necessarily Ford parts.
And if you're buying the all-black ones, make SURE you're getting what you want. Most all-black ones are manual, but I'm looking for all-black power mirrors.
im in the same boat, but im looking for manual chrome mirrors. i seen them on ebay for around 49 or so and in JC whit but i have been searchin junkyards also. although i might consider black and paint them if i can find em.
I'm not sure if you are looking for the "flag style" mirrors, that mount directly to the door, or the low mount swing away mirrors with bracketing????But anyway......does anyone know how to remove the electric "flag style" mirrors from the door, and more importantly dis-assemble them?? I want to change the glass in my RH one, and add a bracket for seperate blind spot mirrors, and mount CB radio antennas to them. Thanks!
1. Push in on the inboard edge of the glass assembly until it stops.
2. Protect mirror body with a rag or similar material at the outboard edge and insert a flat blade screwdriver (in about one inch) between the mirror body and glass assembly.
3. Pry the glass assembly out from mirror body until it snaps loose.
4. Remove screwdriver and continue to pull the glass assembly by hand until it is completely unsnapped.
5. For indicator mirrors, disconnect the two circuits (turn signal and ground) from the terminals on the back of the glass assembly.
Installation
1. For indicator mirrors, connect two circuits (turn signal and ground) to the terminals on the back of glass assembly.
2. For indicator mirrors, verify signal display operation by operating the right and left turn signals.
3. Position glass assembly in mirror, making sure the U-shaped alignment tabs on the glass assembly are lined up with the motor actuator bar, and slightly move glass around until it drops into place.
4. Push on center of the glass assembly to snap it into place.
5. Check glass assembly for looseness. If loose, push on glass assembly until it is fully seated.
