The pin makes it shift at the proper time, yes it's pretty important.

You need to check for vacuum at the connection on the tranny with the engine idling. A diesel does not have vacuum like a gas engine, so you have a vacuum pump that gives the diesel truck vacuum for the brake booster, the HVAC, and the c6 tranny.

You need to check that you have vacuum in the system at the engine, and you also need to check the VRV or vacuum control on the throttle under the hood. To make the c6 work with the diesel, they had to put a variable vacuum gizmo on the throttle that varies the vacuum signal to the modulator on the tranny. That's what makes it shift at the proper time according to the throttle position.

NOW i have nadda when i shift it dose nothing.when i put the t/c in i know i got it right the t/c slid forward upon tighteing down it stil had a lil play to slide up but it was definetly in the flex plate. after i mounted it the t/c would not spin in the bell houseing i saw a clip of a smaller tranny being mounted and the t/c still would spin befor tighteing im sure that cant be my prob is it

Geeze bud, I would love to help you, but I really can't decipher what you are asking? Maybe if you went back in and threw in some punctuation marks, correct capitalization and spelling and things of that nature myself and others could easily scan your writing to determine what your needs are?
