How wide a wheel are you going to run?

We looked at the cts for the wife too, I wanted the CTS-V FOR HER but she wants a taller vehicle now that she's used to seeing over traffic in the Ex

and realistically, the new vehicles mpg (if not a pos econobox) are not THAT far off from our tuned Ex...

Had to take my Stepson's F-150 king ranch crew cab on a trip this last week and it got 12 to 14 mpg indicated..... I was stunned.... guess it's got a 5.4 ??? not sure, but it wasn't that good....
Now, I will say he has some nice wide 20's on it and may not have recalibrated the speedo, but all in all the mpg was not worth the loss of the size and power of the Ex's deezle.

I run 35/14.5/16 on a 16/12 rim and had to put almost 8" in the front, move the bumper out 2" to keep them from rubbing. How much did you cut? Do the XLT bodies sit higher on the frame than the Limiteds?

To bad you don't live closer, I'd try to make a deal for those rims and tires. Just curious, if you don't mind saying, what did they give you for the Ex?

You can run the 37s with a lil work but the 35s will look fine and save you a mpg or two.

If I had a diesel we woulda reprogrammed it for better mpg and kept it but we had a gasser amd even with its programmer he best I can get is 10mpg.

I assume your offset is the main reason you needed so much lift. I took the lower valance off and then trimmed the edge of the plastic that wraps around the bumper. I did not have to cut the bumper at all. However my rig doesnt go off road at all, strictly mall crawler.

I couldnt sell the wheels thats one of the biggest reasons they wanted to trade for the X. The wheels alone with my discount were $1350, they were the only 20x12 KMC wheels in the country at the time. I found them in Tampa FL. KMC said they would not have any more wheels for the 8 lug Fords for 2 months. When I bought the tires I paid $1850. I had similar problems tracking them down as well because the tire manufacturing plant was shut down and there were very few tires out there above a 35. I am trading for a 2004 Caddilac CTS Sport with 52,xxx miles one owner. We are trading even.

I assume you feel the same way about your wife as I do mine. I wouldn't trade her for the world!!! Fortunately for me, mine would rather have the big 4X4!!!!

Mine doesnt want to sell the X to be honest its more me than anything. I took a change in work for less stress and less money so I needed to adjust a few things.

My kids were the reason why I did it. Only so much aggravation you can leave at work, at some point it starts to follow you home.

Mine are in private school and couldn't do it w/o the job, but would never have picked the career.
