my truck just died out on the trip back home from fishing...didn't run hot....no CEL....just DIED like i turned it off...and won't start back up.....any help?
fuses are good....im getting ready to drop the tank...
(off topic) you know when my truck died out on the side of the road yesterday i was about 25 miles from home with a boat it didn't take but about 3 minutes for a ole late 90's 12v cummins and with 2 of the nicest people i have ever met showed up and the guy happened to be a mechanic (he thought it was a crankshaft sensor just by lookin')...needless to say he had a good strap...even had the circle bolt things for the ends...and pulled me all the way home..offered him $80 bucks and he took $20...just thought i'd share a good broke down experience cause i have walked that long road before and nobody stops.. just hate it had to be a dodge!
always an outside chance it is the inertia switch that is on P side kick panel. If you hit a big bump or had a passenger sitting there that hit it with their foot.
The other "tool" guys use, is to bang on the bottom of the tank to get the pump to turn over. But that probably won't work when it has already been running and just flat dies. It's a good thing to know regardless.
If it were me, I would make absolutely certain I was getting 12VDC to the top of the pump before I dropped the tank.
