pedal problems?
I had to make a service call awhile ago. Going down the road I noticed that I kept slowing down. Never moved my foot. Looked at the tach and the rpms were going down. So pushed on the pedal some, nothing, little more, nothing, then all of the sudden it picks up speed. Seems like you always keep pushing more and more on the pedal. There is one spot thats like its a dead spot. Keep push it down farther and farther then it takes off. When it does this the tach is reading around 1500 rpm, but it seems like its the same spot on the pedal. Is it time for a new one?

Sounds like a TPS (Throttle Position Snsor) problem. Depending on the year of your truck and the design of the throttle pedal you may only need the TPS. See this LINK.
There is the possibilty that the IVS (Idle Validation Switch) has dirty or bad contacts but the sypmtoms don't really sound like that but the IVS should b checked.
