stutter after startup

I've noticed recently that after a cold startup, when I am taking my foot off the clutch and starting to accelerate, the truck stutters a little like it is going to stall, and I have to step on the gas a little more to keep it going. This will happen once or twice, just when i start moving from a stop, and then the truck will run fine. Does not happen at higher RPMs.

Any suggestions on what this could be??

1993 f150, 4.9l, 5-speed, 4x4.

Are the spark plugs good and properly gapped? Are the plug wires good?
Is the fuel filter recent?

After posting, I realized this problem seems to happen every time i start from a stopped position, up until the engine gets up to normal running temp. Not just the one or two times i said before.

i replaced plugs and wires probably ~2 years ago. havent touched the fuel filter in the 2.5 years of owning the truck. Probably hasnt been replaced in while. Wouldnt these things cause an issue even after the motor's warmed up?

Before I replaced plugs and wires (2 years ago) the truck was stuttering during acceleration at any time, warm or cold... my current problem is a little different in that its only happening (at least that i can tell) when the engine's cold.

but you're right... those things would be a good place to start looking at least. A little tune-up couldnt hurt.

check your cap and rotor as for this happend to me rite before it melted the rotor button I also replaced the ingnition control modual as well case there was some damage there in this case it retards your spark and causes bucking and backfire and hesitaion and stalling and you will notice it will only get worst good luck to ya!

Ford Fuel Injection » Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT) Maybe test the ECT as described in this link.
