Support ticket

So I filled out a support ticket regarding the site speed and failure to upload problem I am experiencing. I assume from the sticky that I am not the only person with the problem. Anyone know what it is?

I am not aware of any current explanation, other than what you have read.

Is it a recent problem? My mobile device won't even load a thread.

Yes, still pretty slow, but loading. It had been getting so bad that I could not read threads without reloading several times, or even dare to try to post.

you have to remember, we have over 600,000 registered users.
so even if only 1/4 of the users are on, that is still 150,000 people using the site at the same time. that is a lot.

The purpose of the sticky was to get people to open a Support Ticket when they have site problems, so that the site techies will be advised of it rather than just posting here in General Conversation about their problem where it might not come to anyone's attention right away, and then when it does, the info has to be relayed to the tech staff. The sticky is general information and has nothing to do with any specific site problems, they just crop up from time to time and lots of times people post about it rather than open a support ticket. Kudos to you for actually reading the sticky! It's been up for 4 years and has only 1200 views, that just goes to show you that people generally just don't even notice or read the stickies!

Lol, sorry I didn't notice the date, and I rarely use this forum. I stick to search and forums specific to my trucks.

FWIW, a support ticket or two open will sometimes do nothing for you. You may be lucky and get a reply. I opened two with questions about slow site speed and if I could expect an increase in speed with a supporting membersiip. Be mindful I have been a memeber here since 2004, actually 2003 but could not remember my original sign in sometime after a site upgrade. I've witnessed the site getting slower with more ads. I realize income is required to keep a site such as this up and running. I also realize site upgrades are necessary when sites get popular with lots of use. I do enjoy the site but country satilite internet service made each visitation painful.
To shorten the story, I signed for supporting memebership and it helped my load speed some. Again, don't hold your breath waiting on a reply to your support ticket.
Great site but damn it can get frustrating at times.

Just because you don't get a reply doesn't mean your support ticket hasn't been read and acted upon. We actually prefer that the tech staff have as little contact with the users as possible as they're not exactly what you'd call fully evolved life forms. We keep them in a dark room full of servers and stuff and feed them a steady diet of Twinkies and Ding Dongs and try to limit their interaction with the outside world in hopes that they'll keep things running as smoothly as possible before they finally implode and have to be replaced...and good techs are so hard to find these days!
