Caliper issue i think

Hey guys. yesterday i was towing a little land scape trailer no trailer brakes.. i was pulling into the shop and had to brake a little hard. i backed the trailer into its spot. jumped out and all i could smell is brakes.. sweet. i told myself it was probably b.c i braked hard and heated them up a little.. so i unhooked the trailer and drove home 12 miles.. got out and still smelled brakes.. its the drivers side rear tire..... I just replaced the caliper on this tire right before winter(actually during the first storm) so luckily i have a lifetime warranty. but i still don't want to replace it im sick of doing brakes lol.. Any ideas or is it just seized.... Also when i stop the truck doesn't pull when at a red light it still has the little bit of roll when im sitting there.. so i don't think it is seized but im just wondering why it smells so bad.

Does it smell like burning brake pads or burning brake fluid?

Either way, you need to look at the brake and see what is smoking.

I would check the ebrake for it sticking or also make sure there is still plenty off lube on the caliper pins. The last time I did one of my calpiers I had an isuue and it was that the pin lube had already worn off. I have since made sure to buy the best lube.

Its deffinetly brakes. now the smell today is minimal. i have to stick my head into the wheel well to smell it...... Note I did have the same cailper lock up 4 months back. The pads on that caliper were brand new. I replaced the caliper but not the pads. probably should have but i havent had an issue yet.. so im thinking it could be the glazed coating wearing off.??? im gonna be po if this new caliper is crap......

Usually if the caliper is sticking it is the pins, bad break line, or junk in the line, or possibly the master cylinder. Did you fluish the old fluid out when you replaced the caliper??
