I've seen it on a couple trucks and it looked pretty sharp. They were all color-matched, i.e. black liner on a black truck, gold liner on a gold truck, etc.
Works really good and looks great. Only took me about a half day to do it all.
I know you're in MO and don't have to worry about rust too much but my bed is completely shot rusted through and my doors are starting to rust I was thinking of doing the roll on stuff. Wish I could afford line-x but I can't. Did you sand all the paint off? Do you think ill need to sand the rust down as much as possible its just surface rust so far. I've never done any body work before. Gotta love Wisconsin snow and salt all winter long
No you don't have to sand the paint completely off just a nice scuffing will work. You can sand the surface rust off but make sure you rust treat it first. I got the kit on sale at o'riley's when it was on sale. The kit runs about $80 here.
There is spray can bedliner available now too. I just picked up a can a few weeks ago for my fender flares and door bottoms. Too cold to use it yet so no idea how well it coats. It was about $8. Cheaper than the roll on that was available at TSC.
I used a rocker panel paint that is textured to paint mine. I used the same thing to paint the floor of my truck because I pulled the carpet out. The only bad thing is that it is not chemical resistant. View my photobucket for more before and after pictures: My Truck :: WithoutFlares.jpg picture by robinsonpowerstroke - Photobucket
