Little stamped steel tabs in 351M/400 rockers?
Little stamped steel tabs in 351M/400 rockers?
What are they? Do I need them? I accidentally torqued down my rockers just after cleaning them (no oil), and the little stamped steel tabs that go between the bolt head and the big thick piece that inserts through the rocker caught against the bolt heads, and alot of them deformed to some degree. I know they're in there to direct the oil in some capacity, but do I need them? And does it really matter if some are bent?

Ah, well that's kind of what I figured after some research. Companies that reproduce the rockes fold over a little tab on the rocker's tip to redirect the oil jet it seems, so I guess ya, it is necessary. Good advice generally too.
Guess I'll grab some spares, thanks as usual! AleX
