Reproduced hood emblems for F250 +
I am getting ready to reproduce some hood emblems for my 1954 F250. I am wondering if there is any interest out there for reproduced hood emblems for F250 and F350's? I reproduce my emblems in polished die cast aluminum (could be chromed but I like them kept in polish). I hate the thought of putting F100 emblems on my F250 (no offense to F100 owners, I just like to keep my F250 an F250). Does anyone feel the same? Just curious. Let me know if there is interest.

Would love to do some Mercury stuff. Also, always willing to do the older F-2, F-3 stuff, just don't have a good source for emblems to use as cast molds. The process doesn't harm the original emblem so there is no need to worry about that. I am also toying with the idea of making the boomerang and FORD wording once piece for the 53/54s. I like doing cast aluminum because I can use a good alloy mix and not worry about the pot metal issues of the past (i.e. poor quality metal, unknown metal composites).

Hey Gusbraz, know how you feel. I have a 53 F350 that I restored and filled in the holes and moved on. On most of my projects the badging hasn't been the biggest deal. I would usually rather not have an emblem than have one that is missing pieces or all pitted out. The last 2 projects I did however they are so complete that I wanted to replace what was there originally. No one reproduces the F250 emblems so I set out to do my own reproductions. To each their own but if you are going for authentic looks, consider redoing the F350 emblems. They could easy be redone.

I have a 54 350, I did not do the restoration, and the "F 350" lettering is pitted and the dot that belongs between the "Ford" and "350" is missing on both sides. Have never been able to find any replacements. I have been considering getting them rechromed, but the dot would still be missing. I centainly would be interested.

There might be a market for the older series like F-2, F-3 etc. As long as they were reasonable it would be worth it to have two new fresh emblems. One thing I have noticed with the F-2 emblems is the post sometimes spread out instead of being straight back.
Let us know what you decided to do.

I am going to do a run in the next week or so (once I get the spring cleaning done). I will get some photos posted once I do. As for trademark issues, I have already spoken with a few people. Without going into great detail on this forum, there wouldn't be an issue the way I want to do them. I certainly would stay away from any stylized "FORD" script (lest the powers that be from Detroit rain down upon me). I am not really looking at this as a money maker thing. I will keep you guys posted.
