Nice cab support. Wish those things weren't quite so heavy. I'm just not that confident placing the cab on it's back, but I've seen it done.

How much space did you wind up between the new x member and the axle housing?

If you have a 4x4 frame where the stock crossmember is. If you moved it back about 2-3" that's where I relocated my new one to. With the engine out I have about 8 3/4" of space before the x member contacts the pumpkin. But with the engine in and weight on the springs. the back of my x member just clears the diff cover bolt flange so I shouldn't have any issue there. Where the A/c compressor is on the engine my x member starts about 3/8" behind that so I have easy access to it. Also I have it low enough so I can pull the oil pan off without lifting the engine if needed.

With weight on the plumb bob will be in front of the diff cover flange

Almost forgot test fit my transfer case for the first time since I rebuilt it. Since I clocked the t case for more ground clearance. My twin stick linkage was hitting the crossmember before it was in the right spot so I had to notch the xmember for clearance and reinforce it. Man I wish I had a pipe bender and notcher. I'd be doing everything in tubing.

Can't wait to be done painting the underside so I can mount the t case for the last time.... Maybe

Looking good man, Great thinking on your oil pan. Hope you never have to but if you do it will save a lot of time and energy being able to drop the pan right there.

Yea as I was designing it I wanted to make sure it wouldn't be to bulky and get in the way of anything if I need to do any repairs. If I got a hole in my oil pan on the trails it would be really hard replacing it if I had to hoist up the engine.

With getting caught up on the updates and getting out to work on the truck I forgot to post up pics of my X mas present like I promised I'd do. I finally got it 2 weeks ago whatta you's think? Redhead steering box fully rebuilt, machined for the needle bearing upgrade, ported for more flow for the hydro assist, drilled and tapped And custom paint.

This things going to look bad a** mounted on the frame rail

Thanks Crazed. Thanks to Gavin, Christmas, and my credit card I have a home PC for the 1st time. Just always used the computer at work. I must be more of a gearhead than I thought. Seeing the pics of the redhead got my testosterone pumping. (pun intended but still true)

It was a pretty penny for sure but if it performs the way it looks it's money well spent. I sent in my own steering box and avoided the $300 core charge. It came out north of $500 after you pay for shipping to and from them. If you don't need it drilled/tapped, Ported and custom paint it will be somewhere in the $400 range. If you send in your box and avoid the core charge.

Once you get a home PC you will wonder why you haven't had one sooner. Although being able to search the net on company time Is always good to pass time. You my friend are definitly a gear head a wealth of information. I know what you mean on the steering box. Definitly gets me pumping whenever I see it. Man I can't even imagine what will happen when I fire up the truck for the first time considering how the steering box alone gets me going haha.

Yea he sure did. Waiting another 2 weeks after Santa came to give me my main present was worth the wait. The GF ure does know how to spoil me professional indeed they are One of the best if not the best place to get your steering box done by.

Been doing some undercoating and painting done the past week I'll have to post some pics of progress when I sort them out. I picked up some more goodies. I came across this vickers hydro pump, adapter plate and gear from a guy. It uses a different adapter plate then the other pump I got. So now I'll have to do some searching for what pump I want to run and go from there. Also got these awesome cummins lift pump block off plates. Nice personal touch to bad it's in a area you won't see it easily.

The vickers is 2 1/2" longer then the other hydro pump setup I have.
