Getting there slowly I haven't touched it in awhile had a bunch of other things had to get done before winter weather set in but finally got time to pull the t case back out for a full rebuild and a twin stick setup just waiting for everything to show up. Also I'll be pulling the front Dana 60 out shortly to do a full overhaul and one or two goodies. Also while it's out I'm going to start my new front spring hanger while it's apart. Some boring pics for now

Yea I'll be rebuilding my t case and axle I can't wait to see how ill have my twin sticks mounted in the cab and how it performs. I'll have 7 gear selections with this setup. Got a chance to sit down and get my t case all torn apart hopefully I'll have the case cleaned sandblasted and painted early this week and just be waiting to stuff it with some new parts.

Tear down

Can't get much done outside with it being in the 20's and 30's lately. I manage the cold sometimes but add wind to that and it keeps me indoors for sure. So I got the case torn down and cleaned all the gears up. I couldn't help myself so off to the powder coaters the case went just picked the parts back up nice shiny black fresh out the oven made for a good hand warmer. Now to play the waiting game for parts to get here and put back together.

Sometimes I just can't help myself at a stand still until things arrive to cold to paint and I wanted to try a new powder coater 5 minutes up the road from me so I gave him a try everything in the pic was about 70 bucks which is a decent deal from all the places I went to in the past he does good work and local so I'll be using him from now on. When I got my door panels and trim done I had an hour drive each way so this is really convenient for me. I plan on getting a lot more coated on my build full frame axles maybe inner fenders and radiator support who knows what else.

I tend to overdo things at times. Is all this fancy coating necessary NOT AT ALL haha is this going to be a trailer queen afraid to get dirty hell no considering it will have the crap beat out of it on the rocks and trails but hey it will look damn good once I step back and call it good enough to drive. I can't stand everyone who builds cars then don't let a drop of rain dust or even once a year drive in on them. My motto beat it or get rid of it. I'm anxious to have my parts in front of me to get this t case back together and axle ready to be almost BOMB PROOF just wait to see what I mean I want to rebuild my nv4500 over winter to with upgraded fully splined shaft for 5th gear fix did you look into rebuild kits at all? Looking for a good source for that.

Thanks I'm just doing a bunch of rough mock up and changing a lot as I go so nothing's really pretty looking yet or permanent. I'll be redoing my steering box and cross members next year once it gets warmer out again. I think I remember your truck that was an ex fire truck right? Was it in a diesel mag? Awesome work you did on your conversion. What size turbo you running and radiator/Intercooler setup? I'm in central PA maybe we can meet up some day once mines rolling.

Small update was outside today in 28 degree weather and wind blowing got my front axle unbolted just sitting under the truck for now until I can get help dragging it inside to rebuild parts will be here shortly. No pics as it was dark by time I got it out. Not much to see anyways

Finally got a acouple packages from brown Santa still don't have everything though so it was just a tease. It was in the 40's yesterday so got a small bit of time to try and start my tear down of the Dana 60 started by trying to remove the drivers side kingpin and it kicked my a** along with breaking my 1/2" drive rachet even with some heat from a torch that sucker won't budge so now either got to try to borrow an impact or try a 3/4" drive rachet. How does everyone else go about getting these suckers out? Next I moved on and took off my grille for the winter still need to take the fenders and IC out no sense in leaving it all assembled during the snowy winter. Finally got something done on the 60 got the passenger side hub almost torn down but it got dark and cold fast so that was the end of my day. Time to go out and keep on getting this side torn down hope to get everything but the kingpins out today. Pics to keep it interesting and a small peak at some of the goodies.

Mr. Tight does this look familiar?

I got some more of the axle torn down now I just need to remove the gears and these damn kingpins and they are fighting me till the end broke another ratchet so off to get a 3/4 drive ratchet I went but no 7/8" sockets I'll have to order one at Sears tomorrow this axles fighting me the whole way to the end I know it. Took awhile to get the spindle out as it was rusted solid in there then the lower kingpin/cap was giving me trouble after getting out the torch lots of PB blaster a chisel, screwdriver, hammer and one way tire iron it gave in and got the knuckle off. Then had to go patch the roof before winter set in so that was the end of my day. Oh yea got another surprise from Santa.
