Spare tire Q
Hey guys, i just got my truck a few weeks ( 06' F250 XL 4x4) i love it so far.
Anyway, i wanna take my spare tire down just to check it out. I put the two rods together and put it in the hole to reach the spare tire jack. I turn, push and rub but i cant seem to get the male and female parts together to lower it. Then i put a flashlight down the hole and i can clearly see its some kind of star pattern... i dont anything that looks like that. What am i missing/ doing wrong? thanks.

I just read something about this. I believe there is a key (similar to a locking lug nut key) that you need. IIRC there is 5 or 6 different designs to deter theft.
