vent window problem help
hey everybody for a while my vent window handle has been broken off and there is easy access to get inside my truck. i need to do somethjing about it...i tried sanding down the rust where it broke off and epoxying a new one on...that didnt work for #####..anyone have any suggestions? i don't have a welder...i wish i did..but i think i will take a piece of thick sheetmetal and jbweld the window and pillar together...

vent window problem help
It's not too hard to swap out a vent window, and nice junkyard ones are only $30-80. You can also change out ONLY the glass & its frame, but you still have to pull the whole vent window assembly to do it. I've repaired what you're describing by removing the glass, drilling thru the outside & inside, and drilling & tapping the broken-off stud to screw it back on, but it was still a major hassle. It lasted, but it took a lot more work than just changing it out.
