Why do you own your model Super-Duty???
Thought it would be interesting to show your uses for your Super Duty and answer the question - Why did you select your rig? Looks, Towing or Just because you wanted one?
Personally - I like the look, ride, power and room in the cab. I tow a boat (around 7k lbs), 18' tandem lowboy (max 7k lbs), stock trailer (around 5 to 6k loaded) and occasionally will be towing a 5th wheel RV (around 11 to 12k). I selected the 4x4 for the slippery boat ramps, towing through muddy pasture and steep loose rock climbs i travel during deer hunts.

I own a Ford because they rock. A F-350 because I want to trade my travel trailer in on a 5th wheel some day. A crew cab because I've got kids and this is our only vehicle. A 8' bed because I have kids and hope to own a 5th wheel some day. A 4x4 because this is our only vehicle. A v10 because I wanted a proven, reliable power plant that didn't have a huge up-front cost.

I had been driving a Nissan hard body pickup for several years, which is a tough little truck. I thought it was time though to upgrade to a "real" truck and skipped straight from the Nissan to my F-350. It might be a little overkill right now, but I plan to buy a travel trailer soon, and we needed the room since my wife was pregnant at the time and we also have two large dogs. I talked to several friends who owned many different brands and they all recommended getting a SD, specifically a V10 since I wouldn't be towing all the time and it would get me the best balance of reliability, power, and cost. Although it gets half the mpg of the Nissan, I'm glad I bought it, especially on trips out of town since I know my wife and daughter are safe if anything happens on the freeway. I still have the Nissan as a daily driver (well not right now since the carrier bearing went out on me after driving the Ford to work for 3 days in a row, I think it was jealous ), but I love driving the Ford when I have an excuse and don’t think about how much it costs a mile to drive it.

Lets see... I own a Ford because I was raised ford, and that probably made me biased, but I also believe they're the best American truck, which is the only way to go. 4x4 because it's required here and I hunt with it. Diesel... Right now mostly just because it's cool, but I'm currently looking for a toyhauler that will get pulled about 15 hours a month up some good grades, so I actually will need it soon. It's a longbed because I use it a lot between lumber, firewood, hay, dirt, or quads, it is definitely a requirement around here. I would have preferred a crew cab, but the price was right on the extended cab.

I tow a 28' enclosed car hauler occasionally. I traded my F250 in for a F350 and it was easier to find a V10 in the 350. The extra $$$ for a diesel doesn't make economic sense for me. Ford had the only gas engine capable of the torque and HP I was looking for. But....most importantly...it's red and chicks dig it!!!
