just came across this site and it looks great. lots of good info. i have two ford trucks, a 94 f350 7.3l first gen powerstroke and just bought a 03 6.0l. my 94 has 250k and still runs great my 03 is DEAD thats how i found this form lol. just wanted to say HI and hope i can be of some help to someone sometime.
Will not start. Drove back from the store parked in the drive an hour later wouldn't start? Changed all the filters. Im getting oil pressure on the low end haven't had time to fully check everything. The only code is p2285 but this shouldn't keep it from starting.
dtc 2285 injector control pressure circut low this will cause a nostart
unplug the wire from the sensor and see if it starts pcm will use a default value
probably bad icp sensor or pigtail
check these and welcome to fte
Blade you nailed it icp sensor, under turbo not bad to get to. There are instructions in tech folder on how to replace it you can do it in 2 to 3 hours. Have you had surging problems leading up to it. Mine never quit running just got light and 2285 code. They do leak oil yours pig tail must have gotten real oily to quit. They cost about 140 to 160, try partsguyed he is the cheapest.
I do t-he sensors from the bottom. I find it easery to then doing them from the top. but thats me.
no need to pull the turbo.
Im sorry you own a 7.3
I hate them things
Thanks for all the help my next day off is wed. I plan on looking into it then. Their were no serving or any rough idle or any noise ran great. Just wouldn't start. And I love my 7.3 250k and ifs never been apart only starters ect. I was hoping to get the same use from the 6.0. Well see
Ok I looked for the icp to unplug it. Can it be done from the top? Not sure where it is is their a video somewhere that shows a how to? Man I like my 7.3l it is a lot easier to work on (for me that is) :-)
