74 460 Stalling help
Haved owned the truck since 1985 and can't part with it now.
74 460 electronic ignition has recently started stalling after it has run and gotten to operating temperature. If I put some starter fluid or gas down carb it will run till the fuel is used up. Put a new fuel pump in the other day after a severe condition of stalling and it started right up. Let it idle and drove it a short distance then let idle again and it stalled. I see gas at carb and confirm spark. Carb needs rebuilt but I'm wondering if that would solve problem and why. Do my own wrenching but carbs intimidate me. Any help is appreciated. Has an Autolite 4300 FYI. Time for a electric fuel pump?
