I HAVE JUST REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALTENATER.
I HAVE A 97 E150 AND THE ALTENATOR IS NOT CHARGING THE BATTERY UP.
BOTH ITEMS ARE NEW AND HAVE BEEN CHECKED.
IS THERE ANY THIS ELSE THAT I CAN LOOK AT THAT MAY BE CAUSEING MY PROBLEM
Do your airbag and alternator lights self test when you start the van? There is a fuse for them in the under dash fuse box. There should be power at the light green with red wire at the alternator with the ignition on if the fuse is good.
There are 2 fusible links for the alternator at the starter solenoid. If they are good you should have power at the big yellow with white and black with orange wires at the alternator.
THE BATTERY IS NOT TAKING A CHARGE.
THE PROBLEM WAS A WIRE COMMING FROM ATINATOR TO THE FUSEABLE LINK.
IT WAS ATUALLY A WIRE COMMING FROM THE HARNESS THAT CONNECTED TO THE HIGH VOLTAGE CABLE.
IT WAS UNDETECTABLE, THE WIRE WAS CORODIDE INSIDE.
SORRY FOR THE SPELLING
