April incentives

Local sales manager said they got an email from ford today saying that in april incentives are going to be stripped way down due to good sales and supply and demand due to shortages from japan. Big bunch of crap???? Id think due to gas prices, and being able to order 2012 models soon as well as NOT being able to get a few colors would make them up the incentives?? Besides, ive never heard of ford playing theyre hand early...

People in sales generally say that current incentives are the "best deal" and time-sensitive, in order to hurry people into a decision. Not sure if the sales manager knows you via a personal connection, but if not, I would be hesitant to believe that.

Cant wait to get a new SD soon - I am gambling on the incentives improving or staying the same for the next round. Guess we will find out in about a week.

I locked the March incentives so I still get $4500.00 off....

I bet at the end of next month he'll be saying the same thing about April's incentives so you hurry up and lock them in before May.....Usually I've seen the best incentives in May-Sept. You'll be a better deal the longer you wait but you'll be less likely to get the exact truck you want as inventories dwindle.

Right around Aug. is when they usually get good since the new MY is coming out by that time. Then every month after that they usually get a little better but of course your choices get smaller and smaller. This time next year you will get a steal on a 2011 but it most likely won't have everything you want and you'll probably have to go a few hundred miles to find it.

I would almost bet they will go up come April 5th because I picked up my truck the other day. Murphy hates me. I almost thought since I waited this long, what's a few more days? But it is a craps shoot. You are rolling the dice. They could pull the incentives on these trucks as they are still selling like hotcakes and with all the parts supply problems and plant closures and slow downs, they have little "incentive" to offer an incentive.

We'll see on Tuesday but I am glad I went ahead and picked it up...I love my new truck!

Well it looks like the incentives were reduced in my region -at least they werent eliminated altogether.
And as galaxie said, the online inventory (however accurate that is) is reflecting the trucks I am interested in are moving. There is only 1 remaining 250/xlt/gas/crewcab in about 70 miles. The one I had my eye on sold. Plenty of S-cabs to choose from but I think I'm best off with the crew. Maybe I'll have to look into ordering...
