With intake and turbo back exhaust, I think you gain about 15 horse power.

not really.
Its not really a performance mod, just a safetey or EGT mod

It can decrease EGT's 50-100 degree if you remove the butterfly.

I'm guessing you got EBPV delete pedestal to swap in?
Thats the way to go.
Clay has them for sale if you want to go that route.

Dont forget to get o-rings.

He means when you pull the turbo pedestal to tap out the hole, make sure to use new o-rings when you re-install it. And don't forget to leave the EBP sensor at the base of the pedestal unplugged after you delete the EBPV.

Yeah, tapping it is fine.

I'm not sure if your supposed to pull the guts or not.
I think the return flow is only return flow, but I dont wanna tell you to pull the guts and then you have flow issues.

If i remember when doing mine, the EBPV is controlled all by incoming flow.

It really is a stupid setup, it should be electrical so it doesn't mess with turbo oil flow.

Yes, yank out the guts. You'll need to for the plug to fit in the hole anyway. Otherwise the shaft will be in your way. I haven't seen Dale's instructions, but I've done it before. Just a snap ring on the back to remove, tap the shaft with a hammer and it will pop the back plate off and the guts will come out. Tap, clean, reinstall back plate and snap ring and you're good.

You are pulling the flapper valve out of the exhaust side of the turbo, right? Or at least wiring it open?

This is what you will need for o-rings.

The best way to do this mod is to pull the turbo and pedestal.

With having it off, you would just save yourself a lot of headache by putting on the modded pedestal. Thats my .02.

but if you dont wanna pony up the dough.
You just need 1 set of o-rings, and just dont un-bolt the turbo from the pedestal and you wont have to replace those o-rings.

You'll see why a modded pedestal is good when you go to take it out. =)

If you dont have to take the pedestal out to get the EBPV guts out, that would be nice to know. I guess its possible.

You've lost me with the top and bottom hole. You're going to tap and plug the hole where the rod comes out on the pedestal, then you're going to remove the flapper from the turbo exhaust housing. If it's the exhaust housing holes you're referring to, if you pull the shaft the flapper used to sit on, you'll need to plug both the hole on top and bottom so you don't end up with a boost leak.
