I have been researching 2011 tow ratings, My wife mentioned we may want to step up to a newer truck so I wanted to research the ratings, although I am not looking to replace my '07 at this time.
Maybe the 350 bagges weight more......hehehe sorry couldn't resist.
I wish my wife was suggesting an upgrade!!!! I usually get...... Good luck with the research!
I was a little confused by that as well when I bought my 250. I thought the 350 was supposed to be more powerful, but in most cases, I saw it was at or below the same tow capacity, so I went with the cheaper choice.
something doesnt seem right. reg cabs have idetical #'s. but crew and super cab the 350 is a 100lbs. less? also look down a 350 crew w/ 6.2 and 3:73 has a less 5th wheel rating than it does conventional? .....misprints?
I don't know, Sometimes I wish Ford would just drop the F-350 SRW. SRW trucks would all be F-250s (with options to vary the GVRW) and DRW trucks would be F-350s and up.
Regardless of what that chart shows, we went to the auto show yesterday, and of all the manufacturers present, the F250 still had a greater towing capacity than all others present.
Has to be a misprint, all things being equal a 1 ton will have a higher GVWR than a 3/4 ton. I also bet it is more than 100lbs more. If you look down at the tailgate height chart the 350's definitely have the added springs/blocks as they sit several inches higher, then the dualies are back down tot he same height as a 250.
It's not a misprint. Basically they are the same truck, and have the same capabilities for conventional towing. However, the F350 weighs about 100# more, and thus has that same 100# reduced capacity.
In that particular configuration, I assume GVWR is not what Ford considers the limiting factor.
