Does anyone have any idea how long the lug nuts are on 2000 F250 SD?
I know they're M14 X 1.5 RH but I'm not sure how long they are. The PO of my truck installed lock lugs for ALL lug nuts and I want/need to change them out.
I recently got new wheels and tires (and new lugs since the wheels are now lug-centric). They are long acorns (closed-ended) and I think are 2" long. I've been trying to find locking lug nuts but every one that's closed has been too short. If you don't go open-ended like Acer said, I'd go at least 2" long so that the stud doesn't bottom out at the end of the lug and leave you with a loose wheel.
Thanks for the info Brian, I was looking at ones that were 1.4 inches. The ones that are on there now are about an inch and a half. My next option would be 1.9 inches so that sort of clears that question up.
I will have a ton of lock nuts once I do this swap, if you're interested.
I got a nice set of locking lugs that looked like splines with a closed end since they were exposed for like $60.00 from tire kingdom, they looked pretty cool.
That's what I have now, I just am not a fan of locking lugs. I am looking for plain, chrome, closed end lugs, I just have to decide if 1.4 inches is going to be long enough (the ones on there now are 1.5)
The ones I got were not typical looking lock lugs they looked king of like the splines on a transmission shaft where the yoke slips on, (but you still needed a key to get them off) they looked o.k. with the stainless center caps.
