Putting 351 Windsor heads on a 302 does not make it a Boss. The Boss 302 was a racing engine equipped with heads based on what would become the 351 Cleveland, one year later. They are unique to that engine, and are not 351 heads. Ford needed to build 500 production street versions of that engine to qualify for Trans-Am competition in 1969.

Awesome! Don't forget to take that wrench off before you drop it in, haha! I really dig the colors.

I only hope my motor looks as good when I get around to doing it. You'll have to post the video when you start it for the first time.

Hi guys I beleave your right again 52 Merc. arrowheadfred was probably mixed up with putting Cleaveland heads onto a 302 or 351 W. I have read that with the right heads this would add about 100 hp. Always wanted to try it. I have a 351 W and my son has the C heads but it probably will never happen.

Built one of those once, called a Bogus Boss, screamed but it needed a lot of gear ratio to make it run

52 is correct about the boss part of it 2 completely different animals the 351W heads have a little larger valves and ports so the breath a little bit better but nothing like the 351C heads, also my 351W heads don't have the air injection ports blocking the exhaust that my 302 heads had. Mine have both the intake and exhaust ports opened up, and have over sized valves along with the roller rockers and screw in studs with guide plates

Hi Please explain more. Was it a 302 or a 351? If a 351 what did you use for an Intake?
Thanks and bye for now.

I have owned several 351's, windsors, clevelands and modified's and even an odd 302, but I could never get a set of the cleveland heads to mate up with a windsor motor.

Goin back a bit here, Bogus Boss is a 302 block with 2V Cleveland heads, and if I recall there is/was a special head gasket to align water passages and we used an intake manifold from a company in Alabama (the name escapes me) you could also use the 4V heads with port plates on the intake and exahust sides to optimize the flow but we never got that deep into it. As a side note I used port plates on the 4V Cleveland heads in my hot rod and it woke that thing up like a cheap alarm clock! I think Super Ford may have archived some articles on all of this.
