I threw the one on an old 10 amp charger we use all the time. It had the amp gauge pegged and was tripping the thermal overload (never even knew the charger had one!). Both ended up having a bad cell and were replaced. The funny part was I threw the original drivers side battery (which I saved cause it still held a charge after 10 years) on a charger for a few hours, stuck it in the truck, jumped it (didn't have quite enough umph to start), and ran on that battery for a few hours. It still had enough juice to start the truck after driving a few hours.
The dealer ended up charging me $46.xx per battery to replace them. I think thats a little high for something 3 months outside of the free replacement. It took them 4 hours to "test" them and the only reason I walked out with new ones the same day was because I showed up 15 minutes before they closed asking why I wasn't called yet. Originally they said they probably wouldn't be able to test them the same day, to which I said "well I'll just take them to Haldeman because I need my truck today!". To make it even better, the guy at the parts desk told me the warranty on the new batteries goes back to the original purchase date of 1/7/08, not 4/4/11. So these new batteries are already out of the free replacement! Ford keeps sending me a customer satisfaction survey, which I'll definitely be filling out now.
